Image cropper
Crop a photo to a free shape or 1:1, 4:5, 3:2, 16:9 or 9:16, rotate or flip it, and set exact pixels. It runs on your device and uploads nothing.
Add a photo and drag the box over the part you want to keep. Choose a shape such as 16:9 for a video thumbnail or 4:5 for a portrait post, or type the exact left, top, width and height in pixels. You can also turn the picture a quarter turn or mirror it before you save.
How it works
- Add a photo by dropping, pasting or choosing it.
- Drag the box or its handles, choose a shape, or type exact pixel values. The arrow keys work too.
- Choose a format and press Crop and download.
What happens to your data
- Your photo is cropped by your browser. It is not uploaded to Revault or anywhere else.
- The saved file is new, so camera data in the original, such as location, date and device, is not copied into it.
- This page keeps nothing. Close or reload it and your photo is gone.
Limits to know about
- The crop is taken from the original pixels and is not enlarged, so a small box gives a small picture.
- Saving as JPEG or WebP compresses the picture again, which loses a little detail. Choose PNG if you need every pixel kept as it is.
Frequently asked questions
How do I crop with the keyboard?
Press Tab until the crop area is focused. Arrow keys move the box by about one percent of the picture, and holding Alt moves it one pixel. Shift with an arrow key makes the box larger or smaller. The number fields below also take exact values.
What do the shapes mean?
They are width to height. 1:1 is a square, 4:5 a tall portrait, 3:2 the shape of most camera photos, 16:9 a widescreen video frame and 9:16 a phone story. Choosing one makes the box the largest of that shape that fits, and it keeps that shape as you resize.
Does cropping remove what I cut away?
Yes. The saved file contains only the part inside the box, so the cut-away part is gone from it. Your original file is not changed.
