Random generator
Generate UUIDs (v4 and v7), roll dice, flip coins, pick numbers and make hex or base64url tokens. It runs on your device and uploads nothing.
One page of random tools, all drawing on your browser's cryptographic random number generator, the same source used for encryption keys. Make UUIDs, dice rolls, coin flips, numbers in a range or tokens, as many as you need, and copy them all at once.
How it works
- Choose what to generate and set its options.
- Set how many results you want. They appear straight away.
- Copy one or all of them, or generate again for a fresh set.
What happens to your data
- Values are made in your browser and never sent anywhere. Generating makes no request.
- Nothing is saved or logged. Reload the page and every value is gone.
- Numbers are drawn without bias, so a range that does not divide evenly is not tilted towards the low end.
Limits to know about
- A UUID is an identifier, not a secret. Version 7 starts with the time it was made, so it shows when. For a secret key, use the token option.
- Browser randomness suits everyday choices and keys you make and use straight away. For something as serious as a wallet seed, use a dedicated tool you trust.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between UUID v4 and v7?
Version 4 is entirely random. Version 7 begins with the current time in milliseconds followed by random bits, so later values sort after earlier ones, which suits database keys.
Is this random enough for keys?
The numbers come from the browser's cryptographically secure generator, which is the right source. Tokens are good for API keys and secrets of the size you choose. For passwords, the password generator adds the options that sites ask for.
Are the dice and the coin fair?
Yes. Every face and side is equally likely. The tool avoids the small bias that a simple remainder sum causes when the number of faces does not divide the generator's range evenly.
