Private storage for card records, not card payments

Revault gives personal card records, such as your issuer’s support number, the last four digits and redacted statements, an encrypted home on your device. It is a document vault, not a payment wallet. It does not make payments, tokenize cards or store customers’ card details.

What it’s for

Issuer details you might need fast

For example, the support line and last four digits if a card goes missing.

Redacted statements and receipts

Encrypted on your device, including filenames and previews.

Kept apart from your camera roll

A card photograph can show more than you meant to save.

Store useful references without collecting every card secret

For many personal record-keeping tasks, an issuer name, the last four digits and a verified support contact are enough to identify a card. A redacted statement or receipt can be more useful than photographing both sides of the physical card. Choose the smallest record that serves your purpose. Keep PINs, security codes and one-time authentication secrets out of this collection.

Example: prepare for a missing card

Save a limited record that helps distinguish the card and locate the issuer’s verified support route. Make that reference easy to find with a Card records tag or favourite. If the card goes missing, use the issuer’s official app or support process to freeze, report or replace it. An encrypted document copy cannot block a transaction, reverse a charge or authenticate you to the bank.

A private vault is separate from payment processing

Revault does not tokenize cards, make payments or provide a merchant card-data system. Its encryption is not a claim of PCI compliance. In particular, merchant rules about retaining card verification codes are not made optional by encrypting them. Keep personal record organization separate from any business payment workflow, and use the bank’s app or a supported wallet for payment credentials.

Practical checklist

  • Prefer limited references and redacted statements over full card photographs.
  • Exclude PINs, CVV/CVC codes and temporary authentication codes.
  • Verify issuer contacts through an official source and use the issuer’s own tools for card security actions.

Frequently asked questions

Can Revault replace Apple Wallet, Google Wallet or my banking app?

No. It stores encrypted files you choose to add. It does not create payment tokens, authorize transactions, freeze a card or provide your bank’s authentication and fraud controls.

Is it safe to share a complete card photograph through an encrypted link?

Encryption does not reduce the information inside the photograph or stop a recipient using details they can read. Prefer a redacted or limited record and verify why the recipient needs it. Never treat a private link as permission to send unnecessary payment secrets.

Does encrypted storage make this a PCI-compliant merchant system?

No. Revault does not claim that role. PCI requirements apply to payment-data handling beyond file encryption, including restrictions on retaining sensitive authentication data. Use an appropriate payment provider for merchant workflows.
