WebP to JPG converter
Convert WebP images to JPG for sites and apps that refuse WebP. Transparent areas get a background colour. It runs on your device and uploads nothing.
Pictures saved from the web are often WebP, and plenty of forms, editors and printers still want JPG. Add your WebP files and save JPG copies. JPG cannot be transparent, so transparent areas are filled with a colour you choose, white to begin with.
How it works
- Add up to 12 WebP images by dropping, pasting or choosing them.
- Set the JPG quality and the colour for any transparent areas.
- Download each JPG file, or all of them at once.
What happens to your data
- Your images are converted by your browser. They are not uploaded to Revault or anywhere else.
- Converted files are new files. Camera data in the originals, such as location, date and device, is not copied into them.
- This page keeps nothing. Close or reload it and your images are gone.
Limits to know about
- JPG is lossy. At 90% the difference is hard to see, but a JPG is never an exact copy of the WebP, so keep the original.
- JPG has no transparency. Anything transparent in the WebP becomes the background colour.
- Animated WebP files are converted from their first frame only.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my JPG have a white background?
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are painted with a solid colour. It is white unless you choose another one. Convert to PNG instead if you need to keep the transparency.
Can I do this on an iPhone?
Yes. Safari on iPhone and iPad can open WebP and create JPEG files, so this tool works there as well.
Does converting reduce the quality?
A little, because JPG is lossy. A quality of 90% to 95% keeps most photos looking the same to the eye while the file stays small.
