Blur faces & redact photos
Hide faces, plates, documents or text in a photo with a solid fill, pixelation or blur. You choose the areas. It runs on your device and uploads nothing.
Add a photo, mark the parts you want to hide and choose how each one is covered. You can use as many areas as you need and mix solid fill, pixelation and blur in one picture. The tool does not look for faces: you select each area yourself, so check the whole picture before you save.
How it works
- Add a photo, then draw an area over each thing to hide. On a phone or tablet, tap Add area and drag it into place.
- Pick solid fill, pixelate or blur for each area. Use a solid fill for text, numbers and anything sensitive.
- Download the new picture and zoom in on it to check that everything is covered.
What happens to your data
- Your photo is edited by your browser. It is not uploaded to Revault or anywhere else.
- The saved picture is a new file with each hidden area flattened into it, so the covered pixels are not kept underneath. Camera data in the original, such as location, date and device, is not copied into it.
- This page keeps nothing. Close or reload it and your photo and areas are gone.
Limits to know about
- Pixelation and blur can sometimes be partly reversed, especially when they are light or the area is small, and text or numbers may stay readable. A solid fill is the only choice that removes the detail for certain.
- Nothing is detected automatically. An area you did not mark is not hidden, and the same face or document may appear again in the background or in a reflection.
Frequently asked questions
Does it find faces automatically?
No. You draw each area yourself. That keeps the tool simple and means it hides exactly what you choose, but it also means a face you forget to mark stays visible.
Which option should I use?
Use a solid fill for text, numbers, documents, screens and anything you cannot risk showing. Pixelation and blur suit hiding a face from casual viewers, but use a strong setting and treat them as softening, not removal.
Does the saved picture still contain the hidden parts?
No. The areas are changed in the new picture before it is saved, and your original file is not touched. The original still shows everything, so keep it somewhere private or delete it when you no longer need it.
