Image resizer
Resize a photo to exact pixels or a percentage, keep its proportions and save it as JPEG, PNG or WebP. It runs on your device and uploads nothing.
A photo straight from a phone is often far bigger than an email, a form or a profile page needs. Choose a new width and height, or a percentage, and this tool makes a smaller copy on your device. Your original file is never changed.
How it works
- Add a photo by dropping it here, pasting it or choosing a file.
- Set the new size in pixels or percent, and pick a format.
- Compare the result with the original, then download it.
What happens to your data
- Your photo is opened and resized by your browser. It is not uploaded to Revault or anywhere else.
- The copy you download is a new image file. Camera data in the original, such as location, date and device, is not copied into it.
- This page keeps nothing. Close or reload it and the photo is gone.
Limits to know about
- Enlarging is limited to four times the original size, and a bigger picture is not a sharper one.
- Very large photos can be too much for a browser. iPhones and iPads allow about 16 megapixels, and the result is reduced if it would be larger.
- Animated images are resized from their first frame only. HEIC photos open only in browsers that can read them, mostly Safari.
Frequently asked questions
Will resizing make the file smaller?
Usually, because fewer pixels mean less data. With JPEG and WebP the quality setting matters too. PNG files can stay large, because PNG keeps every pixel exactly.
Does the resized photo keep its location and date?
No. The new file is built from the picture alone, so the location, date and camera details stored in the original are not carried over. The original file is not touched.
What size should I choose?
It depends where the photo is going. Many sites show photos no wider than about 1080 to 2048 pixels, so those are a sensible starting point. Check the limits of the form or site you are using.
