From first launch to your private files
- Complete the feature introduction. Review the optional Pro offer, then choose to create a vault or connect an existing one. You can continue with the free plan.
- Name the vault and draw a unique pattern on the 5 × 5 grid. Follow the confirmation step during setup. Later unlocks submit your pattern without a separate confirmation button.
- Save the generated recovery phrase somewhere safe outside this phone. Confirm that you have saved it before continuing. Revault cannot reset or retrieve the phrase for you.
- Review the vault’s settings before adding files. Optional syncing, media handling, sharing defaults and the inactivity timeout belong to this vault, so a different collection can use different settings.
Create another collection later
Open the plus menu inside an unlocked vault and choose Create a vault. On Android, the floating plus expands its actions above the button; tap it again, tap elsewhere or use Back to close the actions. Creating a folder keeps files in the current vault; creating a vault gives them a separate pattern and recovery phrase.
The free plan supports two vaults and 15 files per vault. Pro removes both limits. A pattern opens only its matching vault, so the unlock screen does not list your other collections.
Before you rely on it
Import a non-sensitive test file, open its private preview and try locking and unlocking. Keep an independent encrypted backup of anything irreplaceable. If you plan to remove an original from Photos or another app, first verify the saved vault copy and your recovery material.
